Kylie Jenner wore the record-breaking Jacob & Co. design on Sunday, joining stars like Gisele Bündchen, Adriana Lima and Elsa Hosk

New Delhi: Kylie Jenner made a grand debut at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in Los Angeles on October 18, 2026, wearing a $50 million Fantasy Bra made of gold and diamonds. The nearly four-pound creation now holds the record as the most expensive Fantasy Bra in the tradition’s 30-year history. It surpassed Gisele Bündchen’s $15 million Red Hot Fantasy Bra from 2000 by $35 million.

Kylie, who has nearly 400 million Instagram followers, became the first person outside the official Victoria’s Secret Angels to wear the Fantasy Bra. A team of 15 jewellery experts spent more than 1,000 hours creating the piece, which combines fine jewellery with lingerie design.

The Moment Everyone Watched

Kylie stepped onto the runway wearing white feathered angel wings and a bra made entirely of 18-karat gold and 4,410 natural diamonds. The diamonds weigh a total of 1,373.39 carats. At the centre, a 75.54-carat radiant-cut Fancy Vivid yellow diamond worth $22 million added a striking touch.

She paired the bra with a sheer mini skirt, clear Amina Muaddi heels and sparkling details around her hips. Diamond fringe hung from the bra and moved as she walked. Despite the piece’s weight, Kylie carried the look with confidence.

Her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, and her mother, Kris Jenner, watched from the front row. Cameras captured Timothée clapping and smiling, while Kris showed her pride. The audience cheered, and social media users quickly shared their reactions.

The Fantasy Bra returned to the runway for the first time since 2018, when Elsa Hosk wore the $1 million Atelier Swarovski version. After an eight-year break, Victoria’s Secret revived one of its most recognisable fashion traditions with a record-breaking design.

The Bra That Took More Than 1,000 Hours to Make

Jacob Arabo, founder of Jacob & Co., designed the piece to turn high jewellery into wearable lingerie. Speaking to Vogue, he explained, “My vision was to create a piece of high jewelry that could be worn as a bra. No fabric, only gold and diamonds.”

Fifteen craftspeople spent more than 1,000 hours casting and assembling the design’s 3,218 individual components by hand. They used seven diamond cuts: angel, a special cut developed by Jacob & Co., heart, pear, marquise, oval, radiant and round brilliant. Four different setting techniques help each stone catch the light from different angles.

The centre yellow diamond carries the Fancy Vivid grade, which represents the highest colour intensity for a yellow diamond. Two round brilliant white diamonds sit beside it and weigh 11.85 carats combined. The design also features 91 large white diamonds, each weighing between five and nearly 19 carats.

The team faced a major challenge because the bra contains no fabric. The craftspeople had to position every diamond and gold component carefully to ensure that the piece fitted properly, looked beautiful and moved naturally with the body.

Adam Selman, Victoria’s Secret’s chief creative officer, explained the thinking behind the design. He said the show focused on “fandomonium” and that fans had requested the Fantasy Bra’s return more than anything else at the previous year’s show. The team wanted to revive the tradition with an extravagant design.

Selman said he “couldn’t think of a more perfect person to design it than Jacob.” The collaboration also marked Jacob & Co.’s 40th anniversary and brought together the jewellery house’s craftsmanship and Victoria’s Secret’s signature runway spectacle.

Why Did Victoria’s Secret Choose Kylie Jenner?

Kylie’s selection marked a change in the Fantasy Bra tradition. In the past, Victoria’s Secret usually gave the honour to established Angels who had spent years walking in its shows. Heidi Klum wore the bra more than once, while Adriana Lima wore it three times. Candice Swanepoel, Jasmine Tookes, Alessandra Ambrosio, Tyra Banks and Gisele Bündchen also helped define its history.

Kylie had never walked in a Victoria’s Secret show before and did not hold the official Angel title. Yet the brand chose her to wear its most expensive Fantasy Bra.

Selman explained the decision by highlighting Kylie’s influence across fashion, television and popular culture. His reasoning reflects her position as a beauty entrepreneur and celebrity who has built a billion-dollar business through her beauty ventures and maintained a strong presence in public life.

The choice also shows how Victoria’s Secret can adapt its traditions to changing celebrity culture. The Fantasy Bra has long celebrated women who attract public attention. Gisele represented that influence in 2000, while Kylie brings a different kind of celebrity power to the tradition in 2026.

A Brief History of the Fantasy Bra

Victoria’s Secret began the Fantasy Bra tradition in 1996, when Claudia Schiffer wore the Million Dollar Miracle Bra for a catalogue campaign. The $1 million design featured 100 carats of diamonds.

The designs soon became more elaborate. Heidi Klum wore the $10 million Millennium Bra in 1999. A year later, Gisele Bündchen wore the $15 million Red Hot Fantasy Bra, which featured red satin, diamonds, Thai rubies and a matching panty. The design earned a place in the Guinness World Records as the most expensive lingerie ever made at the time.

In 2001, Heidi returned in the $12.5 million Heavenly Star Bra, which made history as the first Fantasy Bra to walk the runway. In later years, Karolina Kurková, Tyra Banks, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima and Elsa Hosk wore different versions of the design.

Victoria’s Secret eventually put its fashion show on hiatus, and the Fantasy Bra disappeared from public view. Although the brand revived the fashion show in 2024 and 2025, it did not bring back the bra for either production. Fans noticed its absence and called for its return. In 2026, the brand answered those calls with its most expensive design yet.

The Personal Moment Behind the Glamour

Kylie also shared a glimpse of the experience beyond the runway. Timothée Chalamet watched from the front row, while Kris Jenner showed her pride as her daughter walked in the extravagant design.

After the show, Kylie posted backstage moments on Instagram Stories. She shared pictures of herself wearing a personalised Victoria’s Secret robe and a close-up of the diamond-covered bra. She captioned the posts, “Best day ever.”

Her simple message contrasted with the extravagant jewellery and showed her excitement about the milestone.

What Does This Mean for Victoria’s Secret?

Victoria’s Secret has spent the past several years trying to rebuild its image after public criticism and changing expectations around fashion and beauty. By bringing back the Fantasy Bra in such an elaborate form, the brand has signalled a renewed focus on spectacle, luxury and glamour.

The $50 million price tag deliberately pushes extravagance to the extreme. The Fantasy Bra has never focused on everyday practicality. Instead, it presents lingerie as art through rare gemstones, intricate craftsmanship and dramatic runway appearances.

Kylie’s debut connects that tradition with today’s celebrity culture, where beauty businesses, reality television, luxury jewellery and social media influence often overlap. Her appearance also introduces the Fantasy Bra to a generation of fans who follow her beauty empire and online presence.

As Kylie reached the end of the runway with her white wings spread and the diamonds catching the lights, she delivered the kind of dramatic moment that has long defined Victoria’s Secret shows.

The Fantasy Bra has returned after an eight-year absence with a record-breaking $50 million price tag. Kylie Jenner, one of the most influential celebrities of her generation, wore it for her first Victoria’s Secret runway appearance and turned the brand’s historic tradition into one of the show’s biggest talking points.
